The estate’s hills, glens, and ancient woodland provide a backdrop that no indoor shooting centre or flat field can match.

Founder & Head Instructor — Elliott ClaysGeorge has been shooting since the age of five, taught on these same Fife hillsides by his father. After more than twenty years as a professional gamekeeper and shooting instructor — profiled in shooting journals and short films — he founded Elliott Clays at Birkhill Castle Estate in 2019. Patient, grounded, and passionate about bringing the driven-day experience to anyone who wants it, he now teaches his own son the way he was taught.
